Morphius to reissue Classic Glenmont Popes albums
08/16/2016
Morphius to reissue two classic Glenmont Popes albums, "Love in Flames" and "Cherry Burnin' Love". The Popes front-man Rodney Henry is perhaps better known now as The Pie Man, from his Dangerously Delicious Pies. Look for him on tour throughout the month of August. Rodney loves very few things as much as he loves his Gretsch guitar. But like any good ol' boy, Rodney’s grandma is surely one of those things. He grew up spending summers with Grandma Henry in Pike Township, Marion County, Indiana where she schooled him on being a mean baker. While on the road with The Glenmont Popes, Rodney slung slices and hocked pies at his merch table, in show parking lots, and even traded pie for lodging so his band could tour. Thus, the beautiful union of pie and Rock 'n' Roll was born. ? After almost 2 decades, with 6 locations under his belt buckle and enough culinary cred to make Martha Stewart blush, Rodney “Pie Man” Henry is still spreading the word of Pie & Rock 'n' Roll. Just making his way from town to town slingin' those pies. Get #PieStyle, y’all! More >
