The Migrant invites you on a journey into an underworld of beautiful pop and psychedelic folk. For the last few years, Danish musician Bjarke Bendtsen (formerly of The Elephants) has travelled around the US with a guitar and suitcase as his only steady companions. This is his first solo album, 'Travels in Lowland'.
Back home on a visit to Denmark over the Summer, Bendtsen recorded the album with some friends in a house on the coast. Preceding this session were a number of free-spirited concerts where different musicians joined in on Bendtsen's new songs. The free vibe from those concerts carries over to the record, where Bendtsen's intense vocal is backed by guitar, violin, drums and kitchenware. When the winter snow had covered the entire country, Bendtsen isolated himself in the same summerhouse to mix the album.
